As a project manager who primarily plans websites via wireframes, sitemaps, and scope-of-work documents and then keeps the project on schedule and, hopefully, under budget, it’s not often that I get to dust off my web design skills.

Knights of Columbus 6420 in Scott City, MO approached Element 74 because they were looking for a way to transition their monthly paper newsletter to the internet. Printing and mailing the newsletter was costing them quite a bit of money and wasn’t timely.

Because their budget was pretty tight, I did the design myself and used WordPress as the CMS. This allowed me to get their news uploaded as categorical posts and I was also able to load their events into the calendar feed.

The design was somewhat challenging because they didn’t have any photos to use and didn’t really want any. I grabbed a photo of their building for the homepage and let color do the rest,
